Extraordinary English Podcast, Episode 2

TRANSCRIPT

This is Extraordinary English Podcast, Episode #2, Welcome everyone. I am Ben.
In this second episode, we'll continue to talk to Sara, from Egypt.
As we already said previously, we are both English learners.

SCENE 1

BEN: How do you do Sara!

SARA: Hello Ben! Have you noticed that we published the first episode more than one year ago? Don't you think we made our listeners wait so long?

BEN: You are right. But since it is an extraordinary podcast, our listeners should also expect nothing less. By following Extraordinary English Podcast, they are already up to be surprised. :)

SARA: I think we shouldn't push our luck, though. Anyway, give me the news! How the listeners reacted to the first episode?

BEN: Actually I wasn't expecting to get so much positive feedback. Not even one was negative.

SARA: Please don't say we got just one feedback! :) OK. I am joking. Go on! :)

BEN: Haha! Very funny! ... I started to wonder if we are not extraordinary enough! Shouldn't we have gotten some negative feedbacks which have said "what you are doing is strange and not useful?" :)

SARA: Do you think, we should increase our limits? :)

BEN: Why not! We can try to be more extraordinary!

SARA: What would you say if I say that we didn't spread the podcast enough.

BEN: I would say: How come! We have put it on Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Spotify and also we have created a Youtube channel for it.

SARA: Indeed, we did. But audiences aren't aware of it! Can you tell me how many times the first episode has been watched on YouTube so far.

BEN: Less than 1000

SARA: See? It needs to be reached to a community interested in English.

BEN: Do you have any suggestion?

SARA: How about free4talk?

BEN: free4talk?!

SARA: Definitely! Don't you remember we hit it off on free4talk for the first time?

BEN: How come I don't remember it! I have improved my spoken English so much after joining it. Besides, I have met with very nice people there. For example: Clara, Amr, you!

SARA: That's very kind of you Ben!

BEN: Sara! Something came to my mind!

SARA: What is it?

BEN: Since we have got many benefits from free4talk, why don't we introduce it to our listeners?

SARA: It is a good idea! It would be better to invite the admin to our podcast and let him introduce free4talk to our listeners.

BEN: Let me get the ball rolling!
(Effect: Car engine starts)
And I will also not publish the second episode until the first one is watched 1000 times on Youtube.

SARA: One way or another it will hit that. Don't think about that now. Drive safe!

BEN: I made up my mind!

(Effect: Car moves away)

SCENE 2

Dear listeners, now we will conversate with Amr, one of the free4talk admins.

BEN: Hello Amr. Welcome to Extraordinary English Podcast. You are one of the free4talk admins.

AMR: Hi Ben.

BEN: Free4talk is especially very useful platform for practice speaking. Personally I have got a lot of benefits from it. Can you inform our listeners about free4talk a little bit?

AMR: As you know, many English learners struggling to find a partner to practice with. So, the main idea is that, free4talk is a place where you can have a conversation whenever you want, without the need to schedule anything. Whenever you have free time, just enter free4talk and talk. And the best: it is free! :)

BEN: It is very good point. For example before I found free4talk, I was looking for people to practice my speaking. But most of them they were not ready to talk or they didn't have time.

AMR: Yeah. But on free4talk people are ready to talk and you can always find people from around the world from different countries, different cultures.

BEN: So, it is not only for practicing English, but also for getting knowledge about different cultures.

AMR: Of course. And it is not limited for English. You can practice other languages, too.

BEN: You don't need to be very good in a language to practice it, right?

AMR: Surely. A person can create a room and specify a level like beginner, intermediate, advanced, and so on. So the other people join the rooms by picking a level suit them.

BEN: It is really useful platform. It was nice to talk to you. Thank you for being with us Amr.

AMR: Thank you for having me in such a beautiful podcast and allow me to introduce free4talk to your listeners.

BEN: It is my pleasure.

SCENE 3

(Ben sees Clara waiting at the bus stop)

BEN: Look at that! Who is here? ... Hello Clara! What are you doing?

CLARA: Hello Ben! I am waiting for my bus as you see. But it became late. I hate it!

BEN: Don't worry Clara! My car is over there. I can take you home.

CLARA: Really? I would be very happy!

.....

CLARA: Ben, what have you been up to lately?

BEN: Working on the second episode of Extraordinary English Podcast.

CLARA: Very nice to hear that. The first episode was amazing. I had a blast while listening to it.

BEN: Thank you so much Clara!

CLARA: I am looking forward to listen to the second episode. What are you planning to do in the next one.

BEN: We will continue with Sara.

CLARA: I should say that, I liked her so much! She was so talented!

BEN: Clara! Guess what!

CLARA: What?

BEN: Do you know that Sara is running a coffee shop and her place is on our way.

CLARA: Really! Can we stop by and say hi to her.

BEN: Certainly! If you have time, it is fine for me.

SCENE 4

(Effect: Car closing and horn sound)

SARA: Welcome back Ben. How was your interview with Amr?

BEN: It was beneficial and informative... Sara, guess who I brought with me?

SARA: Who?

CLARA: Me! :)

SARA: Welcome Clara. It is very nice to see you.

BEN: After the interview with Amr, I ran into Clara on my way back. She was waiting for her bus. Since my car was available, I offered her a ride and here we are.

CLARA: Sara, I liked your performance so much in the first episode of Extraordinary English Podcast.

SARA: It is very kind of you Clara!

CLARA: And I heard you are working on the second episode, already.

SARA: Yes. It took time but we finally got around to doing some recordings. Forgive me a moment... Two special coffees for Ben and Clara are just on the way.

CLARA: Actually Sara, coffee is not my cup of tea!

SARA: So, do you prefer tea?

CLARA: Can I get a strawberry milkshake instead?

SARA: You know what Clara, the coffee is on the house. But the strawberry milkshake is not!

CLARA: What do you mean? Should I pay for it?

SARA: Of course no! Ben will pick up the tab!

BEN: What?! Who?! Me?! I don't have any money!

SARA: Calm down, I am joking.

BEN: One day I will die due to your jokes.

CLARA: Don't say that Ben. OK, tell me, when will you publish the next episode of Extraordinary English podcast?

BEN: It is just around the corner.

SARA: He says when the previous episode is watched 1000 times on Youtube, he will release the second one.

CLARA: Will it be the same for the next episode?

SARA: Why are you asking?

CLARA: If it is the case, I will share and recommend it to my friends and tell them to do so, so that you won't be able to publish a new episode once in a blue moon anymore. 😁

BEN: It is really stimulating to see you are interested in Extraordinary English Podcast so much. Thank you Clara.

SARA: Ben, something came to my mind.

BEN: What is that Sara?

SARA: Clara, would you like to join us in the second episode of Extraordinary English Podcast?

CLARA: Really! I'd love to! Wow!

Well, Ben, it’s not bad. I would even say, it’s good. It wasn’t boring for the first time. I also was able to memorize the expressions that I almost forgot. So, try to make it consistently. You could separate this podcast by two for example. I mean better do it shortly but more frequently.
